Founder, One Stop Change Solutions

I’ve been a qualified therapist for over 25 years, and throughout that time, I’ve always aimed to bring warmth, honesty, and professionalism to every session. People often tell me that my approachable, down-to-earth style helps them feel comfortable right from the start.

Over the years, I’ve managed two practices — 1-1 Counselling and now One Stop Change Solutions. My work has taken me across a wide range of settings, including rehab centres, women’s refuges, and family support services, giving me extensive experience with many emotional and psychological challenges.

Today, I offer a broader range of services, including coaching, hypnotherapy, mentoring, clinical supervision, EMDR, NLP and OCD Support, allowing me to support clients through a variety of approaches tailored to their needs.

I’m also happy to offer remote sessions via Zoom, WhatsApp, and phone because I believe support should be accessible no matter your schedule or location. If you are ready to take that first step, I would love to hear from you.

How I Can Help

I help people change deeply rooted coping patterns without shame,
force, or willpower-based approaches

Addiction Informed Counselling & Hypnotherapy

Support for alcohol use, trauma, ADHD and compulsive coping

Clinical Supervision

For counsellors and therapists working with addiction and trauma.

Why My Approach Works Differently

I integrate counselling and hypnotherapy so you don’t have to keep starting again or retelling your story. Counselling identifies patterns and meaning; hypnotherapy works at a deeper, non verbal level where habits are formed.

When I first contacted Donna, I was at a point where I felt completely overwhelmed. Anxiety had become part of my everyday life and I found myself constantly overthinking, struggling to sleep, and feeling emotionally exhausted. I had considered counselling before but always talked myself out of it because I wasn't sure it would help. From the first session, Donna created a space where I felt comfortable talking openly without fear of being judged. She listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions, and helped me understand why I was reacting to situations in the way that I was. What stood out to me most was that she never rushed the process. I always felt heard and respected. Over the months we worked together, I learned practical techniques to manage my anxiety, improve my confidence, and develop healthier ways of coping with stress. Friends and family started noticing positive changes in me before I even realised how much progress I had made. I now feel more in control of my emotions and better equipped to deal with life's challenges. Reaching out to Donna was one of the best decisions I've made

Running a business can be incredibly isolating and I reached a point where stress was affecting every area of my life. I was constantly worried about work, struggled to switch off in the evenings and found myself becoming increasingly irritable with the people closest to me. Donna helped me understand the connection between my stress, my thinking patterns and the expectations I was placing on myself. She provided a supportive environment while also helping me challenge beliefs that were no longer serving me. What I appreciated most was her ability to combine empathy with practical guidance. Every session gave me something useful to take away and apply in real life. The changes didn't happen overnight, but looking back now, I can clearly see how far I've come. I'm calmer, more self-aware and much better equipped to manage challenges when they arise.

I began working with Donna during one of the most difficult periods of my life. I was struggling emotionally after a relationship breakdown and felt completely lost. Friends and family were supportive, but I needed a space where I could speak openly without worrying about burdening anyone. From the beginning, Donna made me feel safe and understood. She never rushed me and allowed me to explore difficult emotions at my own pace. Through our sessions I gained a deeper understanding of myself, my relationships and the patterns that had contributed to many of my struggles. The progress I've made has been far greater than I expected when I first reached out. I feel stronger, more confident and more optimistic about the future. Most importantly, I no longer feel defined by the challenges that brought me into counselling in the first place

I reached out to Donna after a particularly difficult period where stress and anxiety had started affecting my work, relationships, and confidence. I had never attended counselling before and wasn't entirely sure what to expect. From the very first session, Donna put me at ease. She has a calm and reassuring presence that made it easy to open up about things I had never discussed with anyone before. She helped me identify patterns in my thinking that were contributing to my anxiety and gave me practical tools to manage them. Several months later, I can honestly say that I feel like a different person. I'm more confident, more self-aware, and far better equipped to deal with challenges. Reaching out for support was one of the best decisions I've made

Healthcare Professional
Working in healthcare, I spend so much of my time supporting other people that I rarely stopped to consider my own emotional wellbeing. Eventually, years of stress and pressure caught up with me. Donna provided a safe space where I could be completely honest about how I was feeling. She listened without judgement and helped me understand why I had been struggling for so long. I never felt rushed, and I always left sessions feeling lighter and more hopeful. The changes have been significant. I feel more balanced, more resilient, and far kinder to myself than I was before. I would highly recommend Donna to anyone who feels overwhelmed and doesn't know where to turn

When I started counselling, I felt stuck. I knew something needed to change, but I couldn't work out why I kept repeating the same unhealthy patterns in my life and relationships. Donna helped me explore issues that I had spent years avoiding. She challenged me when necessary but always in a supportive and constructive way. Through our work together, I developed a much better understanding of myself and the reasons behind many of my behaviours. I now feel more confident, more emotionally aware, and much more capable of dealing with difficult situations. The progress I've made has exceeded my expectations.

After becoming a parent, I completely lost sight of who I was outside of my responsibilities to everyone else. I felt overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and guilty for even admitting that I was struggling. Donna immediately made me feel understood. She helped me see that looking after my own mental health wasn't selfish—it was essential. Through our sessions, I learned how to manage anxiety, reduce self-criticism, and create healthier boundaries. My confidence has grown enormously and I feel far more present with my family. The difference in my overall wellbeing is remarkable.

Recovery can sometimes feel lonely, even when you're surrounded by supportive people. I reached out to Donna during a period where I felt uncertain and vulnerable, and I needed professional guidance to help me stay focused on my goals. Donna understood the challenges I was facing and provided support without judgement. She helped me strengthen my coping strategies, build resilience, and maintain perspective during difficult periods. The confidence and self-awareness I gained through our sessions continue to help me today. I am deeply grateful for the support I received.

Couple's Feedback
We contacted Donna at a point where communication had broken down and we felt stuck in the same arguments over and over again. We cared about each other deeply but struggled to understand each other's perspectives. Donna created a calm and balanced environment where both of us felt heard. She helped us communicate more openly and identify patterns that were contributing to conflict. We learned practical skills that we continue to use in our relationship today. The experience helped us rebuild trust, improve communication, and strengthen our relationship. We are extremely grateful for Donna's support and guidance throughout the process

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Addiction-Informed
Counselling & Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy works with subconscious and nervous-system patterns that drive addictive or compulsive behaviour. Rather than relying on willpower, it helps reduce the internal need for substances or behaviours used to cope.
Yes, when delivered in a trauma-informed and safety-first way. This approach avoids force, confrontation, or loss of control and is paced according to nervous-system capacity.
No. Progress does not require reliving or repeatedly retelling traumatic experiences. The focus is on present-day patterns and regulation, not re-exposure.
Because drinking is often a response to nervous-system stress rather than a lack of motivation. Willpower attempts to override the system instead of addressing why alcohol is needed.
It means understanding addiction and compulsive behaviours as coping strategies rather than moral failings, and working with the underlying reasons they exist.
Yes. Integrating counselling and hypnotherapy allows insight and understanding to be matched with deeper, non-verbal change, without starting again with different professionals.
Yes. Regulation-based approaches are often more effective and less shaming for people with ADHD than rigid or discipline-based models.
Many people seek support while functioning externally but feeling exhausted internally. Therapy can help before crisis develops.
This includes alcohol use, emotional eating, overworking, avoidance, and other behaviours used to manage emotional or nervous-system overload.
There is no fixed timeline. The pace is guided by safety, capacity, and what the nervous system can integrate.
Yes. Relapse is treated as information rather than failure, often highlighting what still needs support.
It is supervision that recognises the demands of addiction and trauma work, focusing on practitioner capacity, ethics, and sustainability.
